In her position as Policy Analyst and Project Manager Anna-Lena works on university funding, governance and public policy development. She has published on performance-based funding of universities (2015), strategies for efficient funding of universities (2013) and the implementation of full costing in European universities (2013). Furthermore she contributes to EUA’s work on the rules for participation in Horizon 2020 and the programme implementation as well as EU policy monitoring more broadly.
Prior to joining EUA in 2011, Anna-Lena worked at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Education & Culture in the Unit for Higher Education and the Erasmus Programme. Furthermore she gained experience at the German Commission for UNESCO, the European Parliament and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Anna-Lena holds a Master’s degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium as well as a Magister degree in Communication Science, Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Münster, Germany. During her studies she also spent one year at the Institute of Political Sciences of Bordeaux/France.
