From St. Exupery Airport to Lyon

Saint-Exupéry airport, which acquired its new name on 29 June 2000, for the 100th anniversary of the birth of author and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, is located 25 km east of Lyon. The Rhônexpress Tramway connects the airport to the city of Lyon.

  • The price for a one-way ticket is 13 EUR (23 EUR for a round-trip)
  • Departure every 15 min from 6:00am to 9:00pm
  • Departure every 30 min from 5:00am to 6:00am and from 9:00pm until midnight
  • 30 min from airport to La Part Dieu railway station (last stop of the Rhônexpress)
  • To go to the city centre: take the Rhônexpress and stop at “Vaulx en Velin – La Soie”. There, the metro line A (red) will take you to “Hôtel de Ville”, “Bellecour” or “Perrache”

From La Part Dieu Railway Station to the Forum Venue

  • Take the Rhône Express and get off at Lyon Part-Dieu station. Cross the station area and go to the Porte Vivier Merle/Place Charles Béraudier (map)
  • There, take the metro line B (blue) direction “Stade de Gerland” and get off at “Saxe Gambetta” station
  • Change to metro line D (green) direction “Gare de Vénissieux” and get off at “Grange Blanche” station
  • Exit at place d’Arsonval, walk along the Rockfeller Avenue to the corner of Nungesser and Colli streets and to the campus

The national railway system, SNCF, represents 3630 km of railways in the Rhône-Alpes region, 308 stations and stops, 1000 daily trains including 550 TER rapid regional transit trains.
The two main stations are Lyon Part-Dieu and Lyon-Perrache.

The Part-Dieu station is the largest in the region and the busiest of all TGV stations, with 6 million trips per year, followed by Perrache with 1,700,000 trips.

Since 1997, the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council has contributed to the financing of regional public transport. With 2150 km of railways, 1000 trains daily, 440 regional coaches daily and 261 stations, the TER rapid regional transit system handles traffic of 850,000 journeys per day.

Urban Transport

Since 12 July 1886, the building has been classified as a Monument historique.
