All hotel bookings must be arranged by participants themselves.

Block reservations for Forum participants and accompanying guests have been made at special rates in several hotels of different categories.

We advise all delegates to book their hotels directly well in advance and referring to the specific hotel booking codes. After 15 October 2011 the organisers cannot guarantee availability of rooms.

How to get from the airport to Antwerp

Brussels National Airport

The airport is located about 45 kilometres from the centre of Antwerp. The most convenient way to reach Antwerp is by taking the SN Brussels Airlines Express Bus, a direct coach service from the airport to the centre of Antwerp (De Keyserlei – Antwerp Central Station). The bus runs every hour from 5 am to midnight (on Sundays from 7 am to midnight) and reaches the centre of Antwerp in approximately 45 min. A ticket costs €10 and can be bought in cash on the bus. The bus station is located on the ground floor below the arrival hall in the airport terminal. You can find more information at: http://www.airportexpress.be/.

You can also take the train to Antwerp at the underground train station at the airport. There are 4 trains an hour to Antwerp during the day. You can find the timetables at http://www.b-rail.be/E/index.html or Belgian Railways 00 32 (0)2 528 28 28. The journey takes approximately 1 hour (you have to change at “Brussel-Noord” station) and costs €9,50.

Antwerp Central Station is situated in the heart of the centre, at about 10 minutes walking distance from the City campus.

Brussels South Charleroi Airport

If you fly with Ryanair, you will arrive at the airport of Charleroi, known as 'Brussels South Airport', located 46 km south of Brussels. Upon arrival you can buy a ‘bulk’ ticket for €10.50 at the Ryanair desk. This ticket covers the bus rides by public bus (line A) from the airport to the Charleroi-South train station, plus the train ride from there to any railway station in Belgium. There is a direct train link Charleroi-Antwerp, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. You can find more information at: http://www.charleroi-airport.com .

Through other Airports

Because Belgium is the centre of Europe other international airports, like Amsterdam (The Netherlands), London (Great Britain), and Paris (France), are not far away.

Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) (166km, 106 miles): Frequent trains run directly from Schiphol Airport to Antwerp Central station (travel time about 1h30).
Heathrow (London) (370 km, 230 miles): the Eurostar train connects London Waterloo Station to Brussels South station (Bruxelles Midi / Brussel  Zuid). From Brussels South station, you can take a regular train directly to Antwerp Central station (total travel time about 3h).
