Call for Papers: HEIR Conference 2011 - The 4th UK and Ireland Institutional Research Conference, Kingston University, United Kingdom (16-17 June 2011)

15 November 2010

The UK and Ireland Higher Education Institutional Research (HEIR) Network have launched a call for papers for the 4th Annual Institutional Research Conference, "Scanning the Horizons: Institutional research in a borderless world", which will be hosted by Kingston University.

The aim of the 2011 HEIR Conference is to explore the role of institutional research in a globalised education context where tertiary level institutions increasingly operate across conventional boundaries: geographical, temporal and spatial, cross-sectoral, and cross-functional.

The main themes include:

  • Accountability and engagement: moving beyond performance indicators and quality assurance
  • Supporting decision makers: planning, policy and management
  • Institutional research in action: tools, methods and capacity building
  • Enhancing student experiences and measuring outcomes
  • Looking forward through institutional research

The conference organisers have opened a call for proposals on these topics using one of the following formats: papers, workshops, work in progress and posters.

The deadline for proposals is 7 February 2011.

Submissions can be made through the conference website.
