EUA to contribute to the 6th Asian-Europe Foundation Rector’s Conference

13 July 2017

The Asian-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is organising the 6th ASEF Rectors’ Conference and Students’ Forum (ARC6), on 9-13 October 2017, at the Singapore Management University, supported by the EUA. The conference will propose recommendations for the next Asian-European Education Ministers’ meeting to be held in Seoul in December.

6th ASEF conference

The ASEF Rectors’ Conference takes place on a biennial basis alternating between Asia and Europe. It brings together university leaders, students, policy makers and business leaders to discuss and shape emerging higher education trends. This year’s conference entitled “Future-ready Universities and Graduates: Quality Education Beyond the Horizon”, will address themes such as interdisciplinary education, lifelong learning, holistic education, and access and inclusiveness. EUA, together with Asian partner university networks, will lead the development of the policy recommendations.

This year, the event consists of two programme elements:  the Students’ Forum (9-11 October) and the Rectors’ Conference (12-13 October). Close linkages between the rectors and the students will be assured. The conference will be attended by 150 rectors, as well as students, government representatives, international and non-governmental education organisations, business leaders and industry from the 51 Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) member countries.

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) promotes understanding, strengthens relationships and facilitates cooperation among the people, institutions and organisations of Asia and Europe.

The event is by invitation only. If your institution has not yet received an invitation from ASEF but you are interested in attending the conference, please contact the organising committee at arc@asef.org
