    Influential thought leaders in gender equality in the STEM field will meet in Berlin, Germany for two days of speeches, case studies, networking and knowledge collaboration. The STEM Gender Equality Congress will take place from 8 to 9 June 2017 and will include participation from senior academic, private sector and government delegates.

    Today nine universities from nine countries came together with a shared commitment to advancing social good and to make a difference for society at large. The launch event for the network called Aurora took place today in Amsterdam and EUA Secretary General Lesley Wilson spoke at the event.

    Central European University (CEU) is inviting applications for the 6th annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The award is an effort to honour academics who teach at higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area.

    The European Association for International Education (EAIE) is organising its 2017 Annual Conference from 13 to 15 September in Seville, Spain. The call for proposals for the event is now open.

    EUA Secretary General Lesley Wilson has been elected to the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) Board as a “member at large”.

    This year’s Nobel Prize for Chemistry has been won jointly by Jean-Pierre Sauvage from the University of Strasbourg, Bernard Feringa from the University of Groningen and J. Fraser Stoddart from Northwestern University.

    As of 1 October 2016 the new President of the Croatian Rectors’ Conference (CRC) is Professor Simun Anđelinovic, Rector of the University of Split.
