IEP inclusion in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) renewed until 2019

11 December 2014

EUA’s Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is pleased to announce that its application to renew its inclusion in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) has been successful. IEP will now be listed on the EQAR until 2019.

Established in 2008 in the context of the Bologna Process reforms, the Register aims to provide clear and reliable information about quality assurance agencies that operate in Europe. To be admitted to the Register, quality assurance agencies have to demonstrate their substantial compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) through an external review by independent experts. Prior to submitting the application to renew its listing in EQAR, IEP had undergone a successful external review by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and its membership of ENQA was renewed until 2019.

IEP is delighted that its listing in the EQAR has been renewed until 2019 and believes that its inclusion (in the Register) recognises the importance of IEP’s enhancement approach to quality assurance. It will give IEP impetus for further growth and continuing contribution to the development of the European quality assurance framework.

IEP carries out, on request, institutional evaluations of higher education institutions and coordinated evaluations at the national or regional level. The Programme has recently concluded its largest coordinated exercise to date, a system-wide review of Romanian higher education institutions and completed another coordinated exercise in Montenegro.
