EUA’s 2015 Annual Report is now available on the Association’s website. The report summarises all activities carried out on behalf and in support of European universities in 2015.
The EUA Annual Report 2015 outlines the Association’s main activities by field, including events, publications and projects. In addition, it includes sections on EUA as an organisation as well as its financial statements and accounts.
In an introductory message, EUA President Rolf Tarrach underlines that the core mission of his presidency is to promote and reinforce universities in fulfilling their responsibility to society at a time when Europe is facing many challenges.
In this same context, a foreward from EUA Secretary General Lesley Wilson explains how 2015 was a special year for EUA as the Association felt the need to stand up, even more so than in the past, for university values. EUA’s main activities in this area deal with defending freedom of expression; assisting students and scholars affected by Europe’s refugee crisis; insisting on the protection of higher education from violent attacks, improper external influence or intimidation; and campaigning to draw attention to the fact that these issues continue to affect higher education.
