Call for participation: Teaching enhancement workshop on inclusion and citizenship skills

29 June 2017

The EFFECT project – a joint initiative of the European University Association and its partners, funded under the Erasmus+ programme, invites higher education teaching staff to join a workshop to be organised on 27 September 2017 (from 13:30-17:30 tbc) at University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) in Paris on how to foster inclusion and citizenship skills in higher education teaching.

The language of the workshop will be English.

This call for participation takes place in the context of EFFECT- Feasibility Study for a European Forum for Enhanced Collaboration in Teaching project (Dec. 2015 to Nov. 2018) funded under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission. EFFECT aims to develop a sustainable European structure for the enhancement of learning and teaching. One of its activities is to develop schemes for Academic Teaching Staff Development.
More general information on EFFECT can be found here

EFFECT seeks to gather and further develop innovative higher education teaching methodologies, which will be conceptualised and contextualised in order to respond to current challenges faced by the higher education sector. More precisely, the EFFECT consortium will explore how teaching staff development could address the challenges of inclusion and citizenship skills. EFFECT is implementing a series of face-to-face and online workshops based on a modified change laboratory methodology, and targeting academic teaching staff across Europe.
The Paris workshop will follow and build on the other events in the series which will have taken place at:

- University of Porto, Portugal, January 2017
- Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary, March 2017
- University of Eastern Finland, Finland, August 2017

Eligibility and selection
The workshop will be attended by around 40 university teaching staff, with different levels of experience and diverse academic backgrounds, back to back with the First European Learning and Teaching Forum
The selection will be based on the motivation of participants for attending this workshop.  Geographical and gender distribution will be considered.

Participation in the workshop will be free of charge.
Travel and accommodation need to be organised and paid by the participants.
