Last chance to register: EUA Energy Clustering Event

08 March 2018

The EUA Energy and Environment Platform (EUA-EPUE), EIT InnoEnergy and the University of Lorraine would like to invite you to attend the event “European Universities for a Clean Energy Future: Interdisciplinary Education, Training and Research”. The event will be hosted by the University of Lorraine (Nancy, France) on 21-22 March 2018.

Participants in the event will have the opportunity to discuss interdisciplinary education, training and research for a clean energy future. The event will take as a starting point the recommendations issued in the newly-published report “Energy Transition and the Future of Energy Research, Innovation and Education: An Action Agenda for European Universities. The report “Action Agenda”, produced by the EUA Energy and Environment Platform after the extensive three-year UNI-SET project, promotes innovative education and research activities in the field of energy and seeks to support the ambitions of many universities across Europe.

Some workshop sessions will address opportunities for partnerships and discuss key challenges of emerging European clusters to move forward on the recommendations issued in the “Action Agenda”. Conference participants will also have the opportunity to discuss how to develop and deliver innovative and interdisciplinary education and research programmes. The main objective is to facilitate mutual learning and exchange through presentations on projects and activities with an innovative approach to education, training and research. Preference will be given to activities with an interdisciplinary and/or collaborative approach.

Speakers at the event include high level academics and representatives from industry. Among confirmed speakers are Professor Pierre Mutzenhardt, Rector, University of Lorraine; Dr Frederic Ravel, French Ministry for Higher Education and Research; and Professor Torbjørn Digernes, former NTNU Rector and chair of the EUA-EPUE platform. The event will also include speakers from EIT InnoEnergy, Total, Arcelor-Mittal and many others.

Registration is free of charge and has been extended to 12 March 2018. To learn more about the conference and see the programme, visit the website.
