    The European Commission (DG Internal Market and Services) has recently published a Green Paper on the modernisation of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications.

    The European Commission has announced this summer that it will allocate €47 million under the Tempus Programme to support higher education projects in the European Neighbourhood countries and Russia. This allocation for Tempus represents an increase of almost €17 million in comparison to last year's programme, the Commission said.

    Registrations are now open for the Sixth European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF), ‘Quality and trust: at the heart of what we do’, which will take place from 17-19 November 2011 and will be hosted by the University of Antwerp and Artesis University College, Belgium.

    EUA, OBREAL, HRK and university association partners from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Mexico gathered in Guatemala City on 27-28 June both to discuss and formally launch the sub-regional project ‘Towards a qualifications framework for MesoAmerica’, one of the three pillars of the European Commission supported structural project ‘ALFA PUENTES’ which EUA is coordinating.

    The second in the series of four study visits of the EUIMA-Full Costing project was held from 20-22 June at the Technische Universität Dresden in Germany. The visit allowed the selected participants from 13 European countries to learn from the experience of TU Dresden as an institution already advanced in the development of full costing and use this knowledge to implement a costing model at their home universities.
