    On 20 July, the European Parliament (EP) CULT (Culture and Education) Committee issued a draft report relating to the European Commission’s proposal for the next programme for education, training, youth and sport, for 2014-2020 ('Erasmus for All').


    EUA participated in two recent events organised by the OECD’s programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE) in Paris: its General Conference (17-19 September) and a roundtable on Higher Education in Regional and City Development (19-20 September).


    EUA monitors European-level developments at the interface of the Bologna Process and the EC Directive (2005/36/EC) on the recognition of professional qualifications, which is currently under review.

EUA would also like to inform members that next year’s Annual Conference and General Assembly (including elections for three new Board members) will take place from 11 to 12 April at Ghent University in Belgium.


    The September edition of the European Research Council (ERC)’s newsletter underlines some of the recent initiatives undertaken by the ERC in the area of open access.


    EUA published last week a new study entitled ‘Tracking Learners’ and Graduates’ Progression Paths – TRACKIT’. The outcome of a two-year EUA-led project, it maps the state of play in 31 countries, and provides factual information on the uses and methods for ‘tracking’ students’ progress at both the national level and within higher education institutions. It is based on a qualitative survey in 31 countries, a series of focus groups, and site visits to 23 European universities in 11 countries.
